Version 1.3 update


Hey, delvers. We've got a new 1.3 update to the Passage to Yondoor rules. The PDF has been replaced with the new version, which includes the following changes:

  • A Stealth option has been added, granting the player a chance at evading monsters (with the caveat that they might return the next time the adventurer rests).
  • Speaking of Resting, we've added a cumulative +5% increase to encounter chance for each rest taken after the first on a given level. We've found that this keeps things a little tense, with resting becoming more of a tactical consideration.
  • The Spell Scroll list has been shortened to a d4, but don't worry, those other two are coming back (with 14 others) in an upcoming treasure expansion.
  • And speaking of spells, the Wizarding skill trait has been changed to grant advantage to Magic skill tests (instead of spell damage). This makes it more useful in the core rules, and has a lot more implications in the expanded game.
  • Armor has been updated to include penalties versus Smash damage for Mail, which helps the interplay between types (and keeps things in line with the larger CRUX rules).
  • We've also updated the Slimehost example monster on the back page. They only take +d6 damage from Burn attacks, and their armor has been updated to reflect the changes to mail.
