Passage to Yondoor (Core Set)
A downloadable game
Steel yourself, adventurer! Though your world breathes its final exhalation, the gateway to the Labyrinth Everlasting yawns wide. For the bold of heart, the promised land of Yondoor awaits somewhere beyond those perilous, ever-shifting corridors....
Passage to Yondoor is a procedurally generated tabletop dungeon crawler for two players. Call a friend, roll some dice, print some miniatures (or use your own), and dive headlong into a fast, tactical dungeon-exploration experience. No two crawls (or crawlers) are ever the same.
This deluxe version of the original one-page game comes as a 50 page PDF rulebook packed to the gills with monsters, treasure, random events, and even some guidelines for solo play and games with more than two players. Also included are an assortment of support-free 3d-printable miniatures and terrain (STL files).
We at Ill Gotten Games wanted to extend this game as a gift to the community. I was thinking about porting some Crux NPCs into Yondoor and they seem pretty straightforward. Is there a section in Crux that discusses treasure percentage?
Oh, you totally could. Treasure isn't really part of the core engine, something kind of malleable to setting and play style. Important in Yondoor, certainly. I think using the rival delver treasure rules can work really well for any old NPC.
Working through my first generated level and quick question. Reading monster drop table, the phrasing is just a little confusing. "Roll a d100 for the % listed" is just not clicking for me. Is this roll under/roll over? If I roll say a 78 vs. a Bandit's 55%...does...does he have the treasure?
Oh, sure. That's the % chance that they'll have treasure. A bandit has a 55% chance of treasure, so 01-55 on a percentile roll. 56+ and that bandit doesn't have treasure.
OK next and completely unrelated question...are you open to hacks of Yondoor?
That is something we're open to, and we're working on some guidelines for that kind of thing. More interested in expanded material that supports the game and gives people more to do than something like re-working of the core engine, but we'll have details on all of that when we eventually get that page posted.
Aces! I had had some reskinning i was playing around with but obviously didnt want to run afoul of you folks. I really like the procedure for the Labyrinth Eternal as it does everything pretty cleanly and without a lot of extras.
Thank you very much. I've been admiring your terrain pieces!
You're very welcome!
